So…..
As you guys well know, I’m a tequila guy through and through.
On this occasion though….
I had to pour up some Camus Cognac to see what this brand is all about!
In particular, they’re VSOP expression.
Of course I had to spark up a stick with this Camus Cognac as well!
The stick I lit up for this pairing was an Alec Bradley‘s Project 40 cigar Experimental Series.
This is a stick I had before, but had been a while so wanted to revisit it paired with this cognac.
Let’s get into the pairing!
Pairing Price
I was gifted the bottle so don’t know the exact price out the door of a liquor store.
You can find the best local price of this bottle through the Drizly App
I found it online at camus.fr for $53 before tax & shipping.
The stick came in a value pack I picked up online so not sure how much it is per cigar from a cigar shop.
I found it online at cigarinternational.com for $27 for a pack of 5 of the robusto gage.
Tasting Notes
This was a great blend of sweet and slight spice.
Usually cognac is too much on the sweet side and is too harsh to sip for me, but this showed me that I was just simply sipping the wrong brands!
This was an amazingly smooth pour I could sip on neat.
The cigar was a mild blend with a great smooth, earthy tobacco flavor to it.
Was a perfect blend for this cognac!
Pairing Ranking- Everyday Pairing
This is definitely an every day pairing to kick back to!
The price of $53 for the bottle and $27 for a pack of 5 robusto size makes it a very affordable pairing to enjoy every day as well.
The cognac is delicious and makes you want to share with friends while never getting tired of sipping it neat on a daily basis.
Cigar is a nice mild stick so not going to be overbearingly strong for anyone to enjoy either with their morning coffee or with something nice like this Camus Cognac.
Definitely a pairing everyone needs to try ASAP!
