So today I’m doing a quick review a brand I feel makes the best limited edition tequilas you can find on the market today.

That brand being…..

Tequila El Mayor with this review being over their reposado expression finished in French Oak Chardonnay Cask.

Price

You can find the best local price of this bottle through the Drizly App

If I remember correctly, I paid about $100 for this bottle out the door.

Found it online at caskcartel.com for $159.99 before tax and shipping.

Recommended Way To EnjoY

I personally enjoy this expression most neat.

I just think for the $100 price range I’d be too upset to drink it any other way.

I do see this being delicious in a mango or tropical fruit type of cocktail though!

Rating- Cork & Keep

One, the tequila is good.

But it doesn’t fully give me the chardonnay influence I would like based off the price tag and the quality of their other wine cask finished products.

I get a slight hint of that chardonnay cask with a higher quality repo from their normal reposado expression.

So, I have to bump this expression higher than their normal lineup, but not as high as I rank their other limited edition expressions.

Taste Category- Dessert/Sweet

This one isn’t the typical sweet vanilla/caramel type of dessert tequila.

I’m more categorizing it this way due to the sweetness taken on by the chardonnay cask it’s finished in.

Therefore, it takes on more of a sweet wine flavor to it that bumps this expression into this particular category.
