So the tequila featured in this review honestly came as a complete surprise to me!

I had only heard about this brand, but never seen it in a store.

I also have yet to hear about this brand from any of the big so called tequila experts.

The brand I’m referring to is Rey Del Mundo Tequila!

In particular, I’m referring to their blanco expression for this particular review.

I was fortunate enough to be gifted this bottle by their local Illinois distributor for a Flossmoor Tequila Bourbon & Spirits Club tasting.

Recommended Ways To Enjoy

While I see this tequila as a very versatile expression, I personally highly recommend you have at least one glass of it neat!

During the tasting, several people tried it neat, on the rocks, and in simple tequila cocktails.

Overall, the vast majority enjoyed it neat the best.

I’m 100% included in that neat vote bunch!

Group Ranking- Cork & Keep

The club truly enjoyed this tequila!

In fact, this was the first bottle to go at the tasting.

It was also the overall highest rated bottle at the tasting as well!

People repeatedly ranked it as a bottle they would either keep to themselves or only share with a smaller group of friends because it’s that delicious!

This was the first tequila in my glass of the night, it definitely didn’t disappoint!

I have to say….

I agree 100% with the group ranking on this expression!

This was a fantastically complex, high quality blanco to sip on with a great cigar with close friends.

I would be absolutely pissed if this was out on a table for everyone to try and I see people taking shots of it instead of sipping it neat!

Group Taste Category- Well Balanced

Some of the members had a hard time locking down the taste category for this brand they preferred to vote for.

They couldn’t determine if they wanted to rank this either as agave forward, citrus bomb, or pepper bomb.

Due to them being so torn by what exact category they felt this blanco fit in, it was determined that it’s best to place it as a well balanced tequila.

TLA Taste Category- Agave Forward

On this exact expression I had to deviate from the group category classification.

I personally feel the fresh agave shines brightest in this expression.

Yes, I picked up the black pepper and citrus from beginning to finish.

But overall, that fresh, minty, and sweet agave flavor made me a huge fan of this expression and stole the show for me!
