Tres Generaciones’ Tequila Añejo Expression Rating & Review

Had to grab a bottle of Tres Generaciones Tequila añejo expression out of NOM 1102 to pop open for this glorious Sunday Football tequila menu!

I’ve had this before on a previous occasion, but was admittedly already lit when I finally poured up a glass of it hahaha!

So today I wanted to actually try it with a sober(ish) mind to get a real idea of where I’d rank this expression.

Their añejo was going for about $35 a bottle at the time I bought it.

So obviously that’s a great price for a bottle to share with a large crowd on a football Sunday where everyone is just drinking instead of sipping to appreciate everything in their glasses.

The cheapest place I was able to find it online was $37 from Caskers.com before tax & shipping.

However, this is a widely distributed brand throughout the nation so you most likely can find it at your favorite local spot.

From the first sip, I get a good amount of pepper on the front end with some slight vanilla sweetness to it.

There was a little bit of alcohol heat to it, but subsided once I let it rest and get a little bit of air.

The agave that came through was good enough for a $35 bottle to me and I rather enjoyed it for the price I paid.

TLA Recommended Ways To Enjoy

As you’ve heard time and time again, I’m always going to recommend you at least try a tequila neat to start.

This one is no different!

I enjoyed this mostly neat and was able to sip on it all day neat without wanting to switch to a cocktail or a better quality tequila for a more enjoyable neat pour.

I also enjoyed this in a paloma and honestly liked it even more!

The pepper added a nice spice to the paloma and the agave really blended well with the grapefruit from the Squirt Soda I used to mix up my the paloma with.

Rating– table bottle

In terms of rating..

This is a Table Bottle all the way!

The $35 price tag alone lands it in that category.

The flavor and the rest just makes it better than a mixer bottle.

Taste Category– pepper bomb tequila

The main taste category I would put this in is the Pepper Bomb Tequila category.

That was the main flavor I picked up from start to finish on each sip of this expression.

This tequila would definitely be good for those bourbon/whiskey lovers looking for a cross over tequila or those who love a stronger pepper tequila.

Check out the photo below of the bottle to see what to pick up on your next liquor store trip!
