So since this blog does blend the worlds of tequila and bourbon lovers together, I figured it was only right that I come up with a list of tequilas all bourbon lovers must try ASAP! These tequilas are ones that our bourbon expert Jason and many other bourbon lovers we know have all tried and all immediately wanted another pour, or 5, of because they were just that delicious!
This taste category tends to be what most casual tequila lovers prefer overall once they really try what I would consider a real tequila. One more thing, if you’re a bourbon or whiskey lover, this is the tequila for you too!
Anyone who I’ve shared a pour with knows that the center of my whiskey world lies with the higher proof bourbons that have become so prevalent on the market. Almost every major brand has an expression labeled cask strength, barrel strength, barrel proof – if there’s a creative way to label a bourbon to call out its proof, it’s been done. As with my last column featuring five easy to find bourbons under $60, I will try to stay away from the allocated and ultra-rare bottles – Weller Full Proof, Blanton’s SFTB, EH Taylor Barrel Proof, and so on.
