Group Ranking- Cork & Keep

This bottle went quick at our group tasting!

As mentioned in the reposado ranking, Arturo, the owner of Lost Lore, graced us with a personal tasting for the Flossmoor Tequila Bourbon & Spirits Club a while back and this bottle was an absolute hit!

Everyone loved the complexity of this expression that allowed for lovers of other spirits to enjoy this tequila just as much as they love their go to spirits.

The champaign yeast used to create this tequila truly provides a unique flavor profile that encouraged the group to continually rank this expression as Cork & Keep.

TLA Ranking- Cork & Keep

Once again, I cannot deviate from the group on this ranking!

From first sip, this expression immediately skyrocketed to Cork & Keep for me.

I immediately told Arturo that this is an amazing sipper that I would 1000% pair with my favorite maduro cigar.

The complexity of this tequila.

Group Taste Category- Pepper Bomb

Now there was a variation here in the taste category for this expression that could have swayed the group decision into multiple different categories.

A good amount of the group thought it was well balanced.

Just about as many spoke about the fresh agave and well/spring water mixture that continues to shine through on every sip they had.

There were even a couple of individuals who voted it as a fruit forward tequila!

But consistently everyone spoke about the amazing black pepper spice that shined through on the finish that was greatly influenced by the former Jack Daniels Whiskey barrels it’s aged in.

So therefore, Pepper Bomb ultimately won out for the group taste category ranking!

TLA Taste Category- Well Balanced

On this one, my taste category decision does vary from the group for sure.

But not for the reason you may think!

I ranked this as a Well Balanced tequila largely in part because of the variations in votes and feed back from the group.

With so many people giving different takes on what they picked up as the dominate flavor in this expression paired with the complexity of flavors I picked up on every sip….

I had no choice but to rank this expression as a well balanced, extremely well made tequila!
